Continuing My #180DaysTo60 Journey
On July 17, 2026, I began a very personal countdown: 180 days until my 60th birthday on January 17, 2027.
I called it #180DaysTo60, but this journey is about much more than counting down the days. It is about paying attention to them.
As I began thinking about turning 60, I realized I did not want to arrive at this milestone feeling as though the previous six months had simply passed me by. I wanted to enter this new decade intentionally, to become healthier, stronger, happier, and more connected to myself and the life I am creating.
This is not a makeover project or an attempt to become a completely different person before my birthday. It is certainly not about trying to look younger. It is about taking better care of the woman I am now while growing into the woman I want to be for my next decade.
Through this series, I am focusing on the parts of life that shape how I feel every day: nourishing my body, moving with purpose, building strength, caring for my skin and hair, improving my routines, protecting my peace, and making room for beauty, style, learning, connection, adventure, and joy.
Some of these changes are visible. Many are not.
Sometimes progress looks like completing a workout or choosing a nourishing meal. Other times, it looks like getting enough rest, organizing one small area of my life, keeping a promise to myself, or beginning again after an imperfect day.
That is what Planning To Be Happy has always meant to me. Happiness is not something I expect to find only after I reach a goal, improve a habit, or celebrate a birthday. It is something I can intentionally create and notice along the way, in quiet mornings, small accomplishments, meaningful conversations, beautiful moments, and ordinary days that feel like my own.
A New Month, Not a New Beginning
Today, a new month begins, bringing another chapter in this journey.
I love the feeling of a new month because it gives me a natural opportunity to pause and check in:
How am I feeling?
What has been working?
What do I need more of?
What am I ready to release?
Where do I want to place my energy next?
But this is not a fresh start from the beginning. I am not erasing the progress I have already made or abandoning the plan because everything has not gone perfectly.
I am continuing.
I am carrying forward the habits that support me, learning from the ones that did not fit, and adjusting as my life and needs change. The goal has never been to complete 180 flawless days. The goal is to keep returning to what matters.
Consistency, not perfection.
Becoming, One Ordinary Day at a Time
This month, I want to continue building a life that feels good from the inside out.
I will keep caring for my health, strengthening my body, creating meaningful routines, and making thoughtful choices for my future 60-year-old self. I will also make room for enjoyment, because this journey should not feel like a punishment or a list of things that need fixing.
Some days will feel productive and energizing. Others may require flexibility, patience, or rest. All of them belong in the story.
The ordinary days matter just as much as the milestone days. They are where habits are formed, confidence is rebuilt, and life is actually lived.
So today, I turn the page, not to begin again, but to continue with greater clarity.
A new month.
A renewed focus.
Another opportunity to keep becoming.
